Yesterday was outing day with Uncle! ((:

He brought me and MayMay to our all time favourite Sushi-ya!

Kikuzawa! Located at Orchard, International Building, Second Floor.

The building is in between Lido and the Thai Embassy. Relatively easy to find. (:

Lazy to talk, so pictures will talk for me. (:

Entrance of Kikuzawa. (:

We came in at 12.30.
The place opens at 12.
& when we stepped in, guess what?
Full house! xD

But just when we were going to leave all disappointed.
Kikuzawa-san gestured to the private tatami mat room at the corner and went "Dozo!"

So we gleefully shed our shoes and stepped in. :D

Uncle Dear and MayMay! ((:

I thought we'd be eating the Express Lunch little did we know that Uncle said that we're gonna eat buffet! (((:

Ocha and Appetizers to start off our wonderful meal. :D

There we go! There were three appetizer bowls but one of them is repeated so i didn't take a picture of it. :D

Left to Right: Fresh Salmon, spring onions in Ponzu sauce, Chicken in sauce.

Of course, I'd never go through a sushi meal without my beloved Chawanmushi. (:

Kikuzawa's ones are wonderfully soft & i love the lean chicken pieces at the bottom. :D

Woots! SUSHI BOAT! ((:
Carrying....?

Our starter Sashimi! (:
Yummy squid, salmon, white fish and tuna. :D

Unfortunately its limited to one order per person in the buffet. D:

Heh heh. (: MayMay! :D

Our soup? Winter melon with ginko, chicken and that thing. (forgot what its called. ._. )

Sashimi Salad!
i like the jellyfish slices. (:
& the tangy seasoning.

Stewed Bamboo Shoots. (:
Crunchy & tasty. :D

Since we were in the private room, in order to save us the hassle of stepping in and out constantly, one of the chefs will give us our orders through THE Window! (:

Since I'm sitting nearest to it, its my job to get the plate from him. However, there is a problem:

My BACK faces him.

So my uncle would gesture to the window whenever the chef's hand appears & i would turn around to take it.

However, after a while both my uncle and sister started giving false alarms, causing me much anxiety over the dumb window. TT^TT

Our First plate! Aburi Salmon, Some Shellfish thing, Creamed Salmon, Aburi Unagi, Aburi White Fish, Gari, Salmon Roe (center)

Yummiest plate with the freshest ingredients. :D
The Aburi Salmon and Creamed Salmon is a MUST TRY! (: Absolutely Delish!

Second Plate! Gari, Sesame-topped tuna, Mackerel, Horse Mackerel, Flounder, Unknown aburi fish, Ama Ebi (center)

The Ama Ebi (Sweet Raw Prawns) is my personal favourite! Followed by the Horse Mackerel. ((:

At this point in time, the chef stopped serving us the sushi automatically, which meant that it was time for us to place our orders! ((:

Thus, we reordered the Aburi Salmon and Unagi as well as the most interesting thing on the menu. Fugu (blow fish/puffer fish). (:

Which is that thing right on top there with the red stuff on it.
Personally it was the blandest thing i have ever eaten. D:
Even the rice below it was more fragrant and tastier than it.
Ah well, at least we tried. D:

Still hungry, i went up to THE Window and placed orders for the Horse Mackerel and Swordfish.
Unfortunately when the orders came i realised that i forgot to mention that we needed 3 of each. D:

So we ordered it again and i ate these two first. xD

And again, ah well, it was yummy anyways. xDD

On to dessert! We had already stayed at the sushi shop for 3 hours and they were taking last orders so we ordered 2 grape jellies, one pineapple jelly and one mango pudding. ((:

So, Since we were waiting for our orders earlier, we started fooling with my camera. :D

Of course it had to star my beloved WINDOW. (:

Whatt?! Am i saying vulgaritiesss?! nono! zoom in zoom in!

Ohhhh! CHEHHH. :| (cold joke - laughter not required)

The chef that passed us our food! (photo taken through THE Window)
Unfortunately i couldn't get a picture of Kikuzawa-san. D:

The absolutely wonderful uncle for bringing us there. :D

Of course while sitting on the tatami mat, we sit on the floor, on these cushions! (:
They even provided extra cushions in the corner, if more people were present.
I like their cushion covers. (: Red on one side, Black on the other. With wonderful prints. :D

Our empty plates. :D Uncle arranged them so nicely. xD

& the loyalty card they gave at the end of the meal.
Nice expiry date. :D

Lucky luckyy~~
