title: Bhel Snackapade! :D
time: 4:36 PM
Well, just recently I've visited Mustafa Shopping Centre in Little India for the first time! :D
& well, what better thing to do there than grocery shop? :D
Upon oogling over ridiculously cheap bulk packets of Twix, i spotted this! :O
Ching's Secret's Szechuan Bhel! :O

According to the packaging its, "Indian Food with a Chinese Twist!"
I was pretty hyped up to try something new even though i had no clue what on earth Bhel was.
& yet, it looked simple and pretty darn tasty! Not to mention pretty cheap too. :P
& Hence I bought one home! :D
A quick Wiki search revealed that Bhel is actually short for Bhelpuri which is:
"a puffed rice dish with various vegetables and a tangy tamarind sauce".
While still at Mustafa, i was reading the ingredients of the different flavoured snacks and settled on the Szechuan flavoured one cause i dont really fancy the sweet sour taste of Tamarinds. :]
There are Original flavoured ones too though. :]
Upon opening the container, I'm greeted with a neatly folded Tissue paper, a plastic spoon, a packet of crispy puffed rice(?)/Bhel and another squishy packet of Szechuan Sauce! :D
Upon emptying the packet of Bhel into the container, i sampled one.
& it was surprisingly kinda tasty!
Really crunchy with a taste that is pretty similar to Muruku but blander.
Following the no brainer instructions, i emptied the packet of sauce and mixed away! :D
One spoonful of Szechuan Bhel coming right up! :D
It was surprisingly nice.
More sweet than savoury as a snack in my opinion. ;]
But the spiciness was pretty good! Though kinda tasted more like spicier Maggi brand Chilli sauce rather than Szechuan Sauce.
Best to munch it down quick though! The Bhel becomes soggy rather quickly if you let it sit too long. :]
Go have a sample if you want! :D It can be bought from the awesome Mustafa Centre! :D
