title: Shiraz Kebabs
time: 1:07 AM
Havent done a food post in awhile.
Decided to salvage my dying blog with tantalizing photos of delectable noms in the midst of the night.
Yes I'm queer that way.
---------------------------------------------
Well, here's Shiraz, located outside Takashimaya and Hilton Hotel.
Conveniently perched along the bustling Orchard Road.
It appears in the form of an open bar concept of sorts.
The Takashimaya one offers more seatings though usually more crowded, went to try the one situated opposite Delfi (Outside Hilton Hotel) instead.
Smaller and less seats but far more serene.
With the setting sun and scatterings of people about, we settled for a bite at this interesting eating spot.

Shiraz, as far as i know, they have outlets in the UK, London as well.
The meat, though I can't confirm, should be halal.
Though they do serve alcohol.
Its pretty authentic with the succulent thin slices of meat skewered in 3 large stacks in front of you. Rotating and teasing you with its juiciness and robust colours.
Ordered a serving of Lamb and a serving of Chicken kebab. With a set meal to complement one. The set meal consists of a drink of choice and fries (really awesome fries i must add)
Pretty affordable with everything falling under $30.
One is able to select from a variety of greens to be placed in the kebabs, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, the list goes on. Carnivores are more than welcome to skip the dreaded greens.
You're able to complement your kebab with 2 sauces.
Personally, I've always felt sauces mask the true flavours of food especially meat, and usually keep them to a minimal.
I stuck with their recommended Garlic Yoghurt sauce and nothing more.
Its light, slightly greasier than i'd prefer with a tinge of sourness.
Pretty easy on the palate.
Think I might go for hummus sauce next time.
Its evident the Beef is their best seller with a steady stream of customers requesting for the highly demanded juicy meat. Would definitely go back to try next time.
Especially loved the fact that they lightly grilled the kebabs before serving to create a nice fluffy and crispy texture and warmed meat.
You could choose to add cheese at a slight extra cost, but be warned it only makes the kebab greasy and pretty hard to finish or as we Singaporeans would say, gelak. D:
The portions are exceptionally generous and upon request of sauce to complement the fries (which i must emphasize are really very delicious and crisp), the chefs are more than happy to give generous dollops of any sauce from the condiment bar.
Is it filling you might ask?
We were stuffed and that's a giant understatement.
Even the usually bottomless pitted yam was full which is saying quite alot.
Well, bottomline is, this place is certainly worth giving a shot.
In terms of food and service and perhaps even ambiance, its a unique and delicious alternative to the usual run of the mill cuisine found along Orchard Road. (:
Afternote:
Whoa, that was surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable to blog about.
Wonder if anyone took the time to read it through.
Hahaha, if you did, well done my good anonymous friend. (:
Go try out some awesome food. ;]
